The Hikvision DS-1280ZJ-XS is a waterproof design junction box.

This junction box can also be used for indoor and outdoor with compatible Hikvision dome or bullet cameras only.

When to use a junction box / deep base:

This electrical junction box mounts is used to give easy access to your connections, hide them inside the junction box, and allow you to drill a smaller hole in your wall.

Junction box / deep base mounts are recommended whenever you are installing a camera outdoors or when running cable through a wall isn’t possible. Junction mounting boxes protect the cable and connector as well as allow for the use of conduit to protect the cable run back to the DVR or NVR.
